This poem was written in honor of the LGBT teens/kids that have taken their lives due to anti-gay bullying. I don’t mind if you use the poem on your own website or blog but please make sure you reference me.
“It Gets Better”
When you feel that suicide is the only way
When you think that you can’t live another day
When people tell you that you’re wrong
When your friends tell you that you don’t belong
When others tell you that you don’t matter
When you feel like your life is about to shatter
When you simply don’t understand
When no one is willing to take your hand
When your parents tell you that you have to change
When others tell you that your lifestyle is strange
When your body aches from the pain inside
When all you want to do is run and hide
When your family chooses to kick you out
When the words “I love you” have been masked with a shout
When all these things happen, no matter what they say just remember
it gets better each and every day.

Someone Loves Me
Maybe life is not as bad as you think
If you would drop those pills and stay off the drank
Everyone knows that times have changed
Sometimes it is hard to except new things
I know you think life is hell
But maybe you need to look through others eyes as well
Noones lives are the same
Be careful where you put all the blame
Look deep into your heart
And you will see your love is not that far apart
So stop all your blaming
Now start reframing
For you are very much loved
No only here ,but far above
So when you want to run away
Remember to stand up and say
“SOMEONE LOVES ME”
